This list of publishers of books on Japan was prepared by Peter MacMillan as a voluntary service for the benefit of the members of PMJS and other net organizations to which he belongs. It is hoped that the list will increase awareness of the large number of publishing houses specializing in Japan and facilitate researchers and writers to find suitable publishers of their work. Tsutomu Murata oversaw the project and compiled the final version.
